An item is something you stock, sell, or buy.

Inventory documents refer to items. A receipt brings items in, a shipment sends them out, an inventory level is the stock of one item at one location, and a landed cost spreads a charge over the items on a receipt.

itemCode is unique within the tenant. An item's valuation method must match its tracking: 'batch' requires isBatch, and 'serials' requires isSerial.
