# Standalone Payments

A standalone payment is an outbound payment to a vendor or employee that names no source document when it is recorded, and is applied later to vendor bills, expense reports, or withholding tax entries.

A standalone payment is created as an outbound payment whose lines name no source document. There is no separate endpoint to create one.
